Welcome to Rotary Club of San Carlos, California

President's Message

Welcome to the official web site of the San Carlos Rotary Club!  Our 65 members are comprised of professional men and women who are leaders in our community and who have a long tradition of “service above self.”  For the past 61 years, we have been providing humanitarian service and encouraging high ethical standards in all vocations.

My goals for the year include seeing:

The Rotary International President John Kenny has chosen this theme for the coming year: “The Future of Rotary Is in Your Hands.”  In his first monthly message to all Rotarians, President Kenny reiterated that “If our clubs are congenial and our meetings well run, if our service is carefully planned and competently carried out, if our members are qualified, honest, and respected in their vocations and communities, then all of Rotary will thrive.”

I am honored to serve as the club president for 2009-2010, and I am proud of all that our club has done in the past year.  By sponsoring numerous fund raisers, such as the Night at Sparky’s Hot Rod Garage, the Annual Fun Run and the Annual Pancake Breakfast, our club was able to give $17,000 in educational scholarships last year.  We also participated in the Rotary District’s local dictionary campaign by providing San Carlos third grade students their own dictionary.

If you are already a member of our Club, I thank you for your continued service and support.  We can all be proud of our Club’s 61 years of accomplishments.  Our history of success is a direct result of your active participation.

If you are not a member of our Club, then consider taking advantage of a rewarding opportunity to be a part of something larger than yourself and contribute to the betterment of people’s lives everywhere.  To this end, I invite you to be our guest and visit us for lunch on Friday at the Piacere Restaurant, so that you can get a first-hand glimpse of who we are and what we stand for.  I think you will find a group of fun-loving people who also enjoy performing humanitarian work.  We would definitely like to meet you.

I am blessed that the San Carlos Rotary Club has so many talented and accomplished members to whom I will look for inspiration and guidance.  With their help, I see the Club having another year of successful service and generous giving.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Jonathan Nicolas
